Northampton Town's youth team travelled to QPR on Saturday for their first Football League Youth Alliance fixture of 2008.

The Cobblers stunned Rangers, who are unbeaten this season, when Shaun Goodall gave Sean Parrish's side the lead just after half time, but the home side hit back to score twice and claim the points.

"The effort and commitment was first class and we were just very disappointed that we could not claim the result that effort deserved," said Parrish.

"We lost the game to a couple of sucker punches late on, and maybe we just lacked a little bit of composure at key moments, but I could not fault the effort or commitment of the lads at all."
