UNDER 18S SUFFER WYCOMBE DEFEAT
After an impressive 6-2 win against Tiverton Town in the FA Youth Cup in midweek, Northampton Town's youth team suffered a 5-1 home defeat on Saturday against Wycombe Wanderers in the Football League Youth Alliance.
"We did OK in the first half but we came in at half-time 2-0 down despite having created a number of good chances," said youth team coach Sean Parrish.
"Shaun Goodall missed a penalty in the first half and if that had gone in things could have been different. Wes Emery scored and got us back into the game at the start of the second half but we then ended up conceding 3 more goals which was disappointing.
"Looking at the positives and we did create a lot of chances but we need to work on taking those chances and we obviously need to do a lot of work on the defensive side of our game as well."
