COBBLERS MAKE FA YOUTH CUP PROGRESS
Northampton Town's youth team are through to the 2nd round of the FA Youth Cup after a 3-0 win at Ebbsfleet United in the first round on Wednesday night.
The Cobblers led at half time thanks to a first half goal from Joe Benjamin, with further goals in the second half from Shaun Goodall and Alex Dyer confirming the win.
"We were on top in the first half and could have been more than one goal ahead," said Youth Team Coach Sean Parrish.
"We had chances to add to that and the goals in the second half gave the scoreline a satisfactory look. I was very pleased with the performance."
The Cobblers will now take on Tiverton Town at Sixfields in round 2 on a date to be decided.
