Northampton Town's Youth Development programme consists of young players aged from 9 to 18 years of age playing fixtures against professional clubs in the Midlands, South East and the South of England.
We are actively seeking financial support and sponsors for 8 teams. From these 8 teams the young players progress to become young professionals on a 2 year scholarship, playing weekly fixtures against Premiership, Coca-Cola Championship and Coca Cola League 1 and League 2 sides.
In recent seasons Luke Chambers, Mark Bunn, Ryan Gilligan, Brad Johnson, Danny May and most recently Liam Dolman have successfully featured in our first team. All have spent some time as part of the Youth Development programme at Sixfields. Johnson and Gilligan joined on a scholarship, while the others were at the club from a very young age.
