Northampton Town have offered 18 year old youth team captain Danny May a one year professional contract for next season.

Full back May has been a regular at youth and reserve team level this season and has travelled with the first team squad on a number of occasions.

"This contract offer is fully deserved," said boss Stuart Gray. "He has a first class attitude to the game and he is always willing to learn. He could have a very bright future ahead of him if he continues to work hard and progress how he has so far."

The club have meanwhile confirmed that fellow youth team players Jamie Arlick, Tian Walton and Ben Coker will not be offered professional deals.

"It is never a pleasant task, having to tell a young player that they will not be offered terms," said Gray. "But we will do whatever we can to try and get them fixed up elsewhere. Football can be a cruel game but of course we wish the three lads every success in wherever their career takes them."
