This term, four young coaches from Northampton School for Girls completed their Junior Football Organiser award by planning and delivering a football coaching session to a group of Year Fives at St. Luke's Primary School.

The girls have been working with the Study Centre and the NTFC Community Programme to gain skills and experience in coaching young people.

The JFO course has been designed to offer training in three main areas: planning & organising a fun football session for young people; refereeing mini-soccer games and organising and administering football festivals.

After twelve weeks of learning new skills and practice sessions, the girls were confident enough to lead a coaching session on their own.

We hope that in the future these girls will go on to complete their Football Association Level 1 coaching course and apply their newly acquired leadership skills and confidence to other areas of life.

Congratulations to all the girls who took part!
