YOUNG REPORTERS VISIT FA HEADQUARTERS
On Wednesday 14th January, three students who last term took part in Supporter to Reporter (S2R) training at the Cobblers Study Centre attended the Football Association Headquarters in Soho, London, to celebrate the national launch of the S2R Project. Steve Parry, Olympic Medallist (Athens 2004) and Rob Nothman of BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio 4, hosted the event.
S2R is an inspiring and motivating media project that gives young people real-life learning and development opportunities, through reporting at local and national sports events. In 2008, the Cobblers Study Centre hosted a team of trainers from Radiowaves to deliver S2R to the first group of young people in Northampton.
Prior to the launch, the young reporters took part in a media training session at Leyton Orient Study Support Centre. Here the youngsters were introduced to other Supporter to Reporters from Manchester and London. The S2R scheme is going to be carrying on its journey throughout 2009. The Cobblers Study Centre will be starting the programme again with a new bunch of reporters in the half term holiday.
