New loan signing Aleksandar Prijovic played 60 minutes and scored on his first appearance for Northampton Town as the Cobblers reserves beat Stevenage Borough 3-1 in the totesport.com combination on Wednesday evening.

Prijovic, who completed an hour before being withdrawn with one eye on the visit of Stockport County on Saturday, was on the scoresheet along with Liam Dolman and Leon Constantine.

"We controlled the game," said coach Ian Sampson.

"Generally I felt we were always in control and we could have won by a bigger margin.

"Aleksandar did well in his first game, and we got some more football into Luke Guttridge and Liam Davis who are continuing to get sharper after injury lay offs. They both got through the game fine and will be better for it."
