Liam Dolman scored the only goal of the game as Northampton Town's reserves recorded a 1-0 win over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road in the totesport.com Combination on Tuesday afternoon.

The game which was actually a 'home' fixture for the Cobblers, was played at Kenilworth Road with an FA Youth Cup game scheduled for Sixfields on Wednesday night.

The only goal, from Dolman, came after Andy Holt had headed the ball back across goal, but more importantly, the game saw both Abdul Osman and Colin Larkin play 90 minutes as they stepped up their return to fitness after injury.

"We dominated the game and could have scored three or four," said reserve team boss Ian Sampson.

"Abdul and Colin both played 90 minutes and came through fine. It was good to get the result, and the lads benefited from a decent work out."
