DEFENSIVE DUO COMPLETE 90 MINUTES FOR THE RESERVES
Northampton Town's reserves played a behind closed doors friendly against touring Russian side Sheksna at Sixfields on Tuesday.
The game was arranged to give Chris Doig and Brett Johnson match practice and allowed the Cobblers to look at a couple of trialists ahead of next season.
The game ended 0-0, but the main news of the day was that both Doig and Johnson completed 90 minutes unscathed on their return to action.
Skipper Doig has been out of action since the FA Cup tie at Darlington in November, while Johnson has been absent since suffering a hamstring injury at Yeovil Town in February.
Cobblers: Dunn, Jones, trialist, Taylor, Doig, Johnson, Larkin, Gilligan, Goodall, Henderson, trialist. Subs: Benjamin, Suckling, Marzetti, Richards, Economides, Oulton.
Sheksna: Petrov, Abramov, Ershov, Kleimanov, Emkugev, Paklyanov, Rognov, Butin, Gregoriev, Fidekov, Biodov. Subs: Krendelev, Myagkov, Gryaznov, Kashtanov, Gibadullin.
