BAYO DOUBLE IN RESERVES DRAW
Northampton Town's reserves drew 2-2 at Colchester United on Tuesday afternoon with Adebayo Akinfenwa scoring twice.
The striker's first goal was a header from a corner, while his second was a good finish after latching on to a through ball.
On the downside, Chris Doig was taken off after 25 minutes as a precaution after feeling tightness in his calf, although the problem is not related to his knee injury.
"It was a good performance and a very even game," said Coach Ian Sampson.
"The two teams were evenly matched and the most positive aspect of the game was the way Bayo took his two goals. He got another 90 minutes under his belt, took his goals well and held the ball up strongly.
"Gabor Gyepes also completed 90 minutes and he also did well.
"We were sorry that we had to bring Chris Doig off but it was just a precaution and he suffered no reaction to his previous injury."
