COBBLERS TO MAKE RE-DEVELOPMENT PRESENTATION
40 ambassadors from the Northamptonshire Enterprise Ltd will be at tonight's game with Scunthorpe United where Northampton Town Football Club will be updating County leaders about their latest proposed re-development plans.
Northamptonshire Enterprise is a partnership between the public, private and voluntary sectors. Their purpose is to develop the Northamptonshire economy and support job creation in a key growth area.
The 40 VIPs, County and Borough Councillors and local businessmen will hear from Chairman David Cardoza and Director Tony Clarke about the club's off the pitch work and why the planned re-development is key for the local community. The club will also be putting forward it's latest plans for how the development will deliver the funds needed to expand and enhance the Community Stadium.
Among the group attending will be David Kennedy, (CEO, Northampton Borough Council), Gareth Roberts (Head of Sponsorship and Media Relations, Carlsberg UK), Paul Griffiths, (CEO, Northants Chamber of Commerce) and Brendan Glynane, (Deputy Leader, Northampton Borough Council).
"It is important that we show just how important our plans are for the local community," said Chairman David Cardoza. "Our plans for re-development are about creating a community facility that benefits the 50,000+ Northamptonshire children we come into contact with annually, as well allowing us to expand our ever increasing community and charity work."
Director Tony Clarke added, "We wanted to get some of the key players in Northamptonshire together so that they can hear first hand just what our plans are for the future. We are trying to build a club and a facility for the people of Northamptonshire and that can only benefit everyone who has the interests of the town and county at heart."
Tonight's presentation precedes a number of important meetings on the development plans between the club, the Homes and Communities Agency (formerly English Partnerships) and the Borough Council which are taking place over the next couple of weeks.
