Northampton Town signed Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Oscar Jansson on a month's loan in August 2010. The 6ft 1in, 19 year old Jansson was born and raised in Sweden where he played for lower division local side Karlsund HFK before joining Tottenham in January 2007. He was named the 'Goalkeeper of the Tournament' as the Tottenham Hotspur under 18s achieved second place in the Dusseldorf U19 Tournament in March 2008. This form earned him a place in the Spurs first team squad throughout pre-season in the summer of 2008. Oscar was named on the first-team bench for their UEFA Cup Round of 32 games with Shakhtar Donetsk in February 2009. He was also called up for the Sweden Under-21s. In September 2009, he joined Exeter City on a one month loan deal that was extended for a further two months, returning to Spurs upon its completion.
