Striker Steve Guinan became Northampton Town's first signing of summer 2009 after putting pen to paper on a 2 year contract at Sixfields. The experienced 6ft 1in front man has scored goals throughout his career, and found the net 15 times for the Bulls in 2008/2009 as they were relegated from League One. Guinan began his career as a trainee with Nottingham Forest before various loan periods. After short spells with Cambridge, Plymouth and Shrewsbury he found his feet with a first spell at Edgar Street, bagging 39 goals in 81 appearances. A move to Cheltenham followed, where he scored 17 times in 111 games, before he moved back to Hereford where he found the net 18 times in 62 starts. Currently on loan to Forest Green Rovers where he will move permanently in January 2011.
