Ian Sampson says that the confidence in the Cobblers camp remains high after wins for both the first team and the reserves in the last seven days.

"It's been a good week and it's always nice when you are winning games," he said.

"Training has been good and there is a good feeling around the club at the moment.

"The last four games have been excellent but we need to make sure that we keep our standards high. We don't want anyone slacking off but we have got a decent sized squad and if anyone does take their foot off the pedal then we have got players who can come in.

"I don't want to get ahead of myself and we are just taking each game as it comes and come the end of the season we will see where that takes us.

"When I took over our aim was to get into the top half and once we achieved that our next aim was to get into the play-offs and we now need to try and consolidate our position.

"I would have thought that six wins from our last ten games would keep us in the play-offs but I don't want to predict where we are going to finish.

"One or two of the teams above us have hit a bit of a brick wall but there are still quite a few teams chasing for a play-off position and I think it'll be an interesting end to the season.

"Morecambe had a good win at Hereford in the week and they are definitely one of the teams still in there fighting for a play-off place.

"I think Notts County will probably finished second behind Rochdale, they've got some good players and they've got a big enough squad to handle the games in hand that they've got.

"Our approach on Saturday will be the same but hopefully we will take our performance from the first half against Darlington into this game.

"I don't think we played within ourselves against Darlington and I think you have to give them some credit for coming back into the game in the second half. We didn't purposely sit back, Darlington just performed better in the second half than we did."
