Kevin Thornton has put pen to paper on a deal to stay at Northampton Town until the end of the season.

The former Coventry City midfield player was previously on a monthly contract after a successful trial spell.

"Kevin has done well and has impressed us," said boss Ian Sampson.

"He has earned his longer contract. He knows he has plenty of hard work ahead of him, but I think he is making good progress and we are delighted he will be staying with us."
