COBBLERS BOSS HOPING WEATHER EASES

Ian Sampson is hoping that the cold weather will ease soon so he can get back to a normal training schedule.

"We wanted to play the game against Chesterfield last Saturday but it wasn't to be and if you want to look at it in a positive way I suppose you can say that the players have had a chance to rest," he said.

"In the end I just had a nice relaxing weekend, I wanted to get out and watch a game but pretty much the whole Football League programme was decimated which is fairly unusual.

"We were disappointed the game wasn't on but all we can do is just keep working hard in training and look forward to the game at Macclesfield.

"Our training hasn't been ideal because of the weather but it is the same for everybody. We have been training inside on Astroturf, that isn't ideal and you can't get the proper preparation that you need but you just have to get on with it.

"Training on Astroturf is good for your touch but in general terms you can't do proper matches because there just isn't the space."
