Stuart Gray hasn't ruled Ryan Gilligan out of Saturday's visit from Tranmere Rovers, even though he picked up a knee injury in the aborted game against MK Dons on Tuesday night.

"Ryan Gilligan didn't train on Thursday but there is still an outside chance that he might be available for the weekend," said the Cobblers boss.

"He has got a slight cartilage twinge which we've been trying to manage but on Tuesday night he just twisted his knee back a little bit too far and that has aggravated it a little bit.

"Liam Davis and Luke Guttridge have trained this week but they are obviously both lacking a little bit of match sharpness. Saturday might come a bit too soon for them but they are not too far away. If we have to call on them then I am sure they will be ready.

"Chris Doig's suspension will carry over so he won't be available and Bayo will now miss the game at Peterborough as well.

"The loan deadline is on the last Thursday in March and we are still trying to add to the squad. I have the option to strengthen the squad but I will be patient to get the right players and I won't go and get anyone for the sake of it. I don't think we will have anybody in for the weekend but we will keep being patient for the right players."
