COBBLERS SUPPORTING BALLOON FESTIVAL
Northampton Town Football Club have teamed up with Northampton Borough Council to offer a great deal to anyone attending the Northampton Balloon Festival on 15, 16, 17 August.
All adults paying the £4 admission fee will receive a voucher that entitles them to £5 off a match ticket for a non-gold home league game at Sixfields this season.
"We are delighted to make this offer", said Cobblers Chairman David Cardoza.
"We play a big part in the community and its only right we should show our support for the biggest community event in Northampton. We appreciate that in the current climate custom and support should not and cannot be taken for granted. What we are saying to the public of Northampton and beyond are that if you support the Balloon Festival, we will say thank you on behalf of the town by allowing you to see first hand what we can offer at Sixfields at a discounted rate.
"We hope that this offer will prove popular and we hope that this will help make this year's Balloon Festival the best ever.
"Our community department carry out an immense amount of work throughout the county and the Balloon Festival will hopefully give all those attending a taste of the work they do in schools, helping out those disadvantaged and generally helping promote education and a healthy lifestyle.
"One of our projects is the street football project which has been a huge success and we are delighted that the Balloon Festival gives the club the chance to bring our work to the attention of a wider audience."
Leader of Northampton Borough, Councillor Tony Woods said: "August is a very busy time for the Cobblers as their new season gets going, so we are delighted that they are taking the time to support this year's Northampton Balloon Festival. Cobblers players and fans will miss the fantastic entertainment on Saturday afternoon as they will be concentrating on their away game at MK Dons, but they will find plenty to do on Sunday, hopefully to celebrate a famous victory!"
