Andy Holt says he was very happy to agree a new 2 year contract at Sixfields, and he was really pleased to have sorted things out so quickly.

"I'm absolutely delighted to have everything all sorted out this early in the summer," he said.

"I was delighted when the manager offered me a contract, we had to thrash out a few figures but it's great to have got everything sorted out pretty quickly.

"I've been here for a couple of years now, my wife is settled and the kids are happy at school so I am very much looking forward to the next two years.

"I think from Christmas onwards we did fantastically well last season and hopefully we will now be able to push on for the play-offs next season.

"We've got a good squad here already and hopefully if the manager can add to that as well I think we can have a good season.

"Jason Crowe, Chris Doig and myself are probably the more senior members of the squad and if we can do anything to help the younger lads in the squad out then we will do so.

"I think we have got a good mixture of youth and experience in the squad here and I think that really helps to make the team gel."
