Defender Gabor Gyepes admitted it was good to be back after injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Southend United.

"I've missed a couple of games with a hamstring injury but thankfully it wasn't a serious injury and it was good to be back playing again on Saturday," he reflected.

The Cobblers have an option in their favour to extend Gabor's contract and he says he is happy at Sixfields, and he is also ambitious.

"I am really enjoying my time here but I would love to play in the Championship again at some stage," he said. "Maybe that could be with Northampton.

"I think it was a good point for us on Saturday, Southend are going really well in the league at the moment and they are a good side.

"It was a really hard game for us because of the illness in the squad and with players coming back from injury as well but I think we played really well in the first half.

"We were hanging on a bit in the second half and Southend had quite a few chances but overall on the ninety minutes I think the draw was probably a fair result."
