Stuart Gray has confirmed that the Cobblers will be without the suspended Mark Hughes for Friday's game against Nottingham Forest - and he may not return at Carlisle United on Monday.

"Mark is still struggling with a thigh injury and although he misses the Forest game through suspension anyway I don't think he will be available for the Carlisle game on Monday," said Gray.

"Chris Doig and Brett Johnson are back in training but they both need to play some reserve team football before they are ready to start challenging for a place in the first team.

"Apart from that the squad is more or less the same as it was and I would imagine that the boys who played against Swansea deserve another opportunity after they put in what was a fantastic performance.

"The players who aren't in the starting eleven at the moment got a good run out for the reserves at Luton on Tuesday and it is important that we keep them fresh and ready because I'm sure we are going to need the whole squad between now and the end of the season."
