West Haddon

Here as another Team of the Week are West Haddon Under 9s. They play in the John Henry Under 9 A League and play their home games at West Haddon playing fields. They are managed and coached by Steve Davis and Ian Lowe and captained by Tommy Lowe.
Also in their squad are Christopher Bolton, Mitchell Clayson, Luke Davis, Will Hoyle, Fred Lowe, Cameron Mabbutt, James Mister and Jack Morris. Most of the boys support the Cobblers alongside their favourite Premier League teams. Many of the boys are also regular visitors to Sixfields and Cobblers shirts are frequently on show at training sessions. The 2007/08 season has been a fantastic time for this group of talented boys. Winning the pre season Sport Aid tournament set them on a run that has seen 16 victories in their 19 league and cup fixtures, and resulted in them sealing a Knockout Cup final place at Sixfields this month. There are no superstars in the team, everything they have achieved is through teamwork. Off the pitch the boys are all really good friends who have a great time when they get together. In their 19 games this season they have only conceded 9 goals despite not having a recognised keeper. They rotate the goalie position and have been known to have 3 different keepers in a match!

Drayton Grange

Drayton Grange Dragons Under 10s from Daventry are also here. They have been together for just over a year but are still growing in numbers. Currently they have 14 children signed on to play, and a further 2 joining in training. This season they have split the team in to two to enable the players to all get a game, and gain more experience ready for when they go to eleven a side football next season. The captain of the team is Ethan Smith. Iain Wilson and son Luke Wilson are both season ticket holders here at Sixfields. Luke's favourite player is Daniel Jones and is really pleased to see him back! All the players are looking forward to the visit and we hope this will not be their last time here at Sixfields.
