Ryan Gilligan says the Cobblers players were disappointed that they did not manage to take all three points from last weekend's draw at Swindon Town.

"We were chatting in the dressing room after the game and the general feeling was that we could have perhaps nicked it," he said.

"We put in some great set plays and if we perhaps could have had a bit more conviction about our runs we might have taken the three points.

"Overall though on the balance of play maybe a draw was a fair result and in the end it was probably a good point for us.

"We are on a good run at the moment and the play-offs are obviously a possibility but we are just taking each game as it comes and the next 90 minutes is the most important.

"I nearly scored a goal on Saturday but their keeper made a good save. I'm a great believer in the harder you work the luckier you get and hopefully if I keep getting myself in their goals will come.

"My contract is up in the summer and I feel that I've got a point to prove as everyone has really if they want to stay in the team.

"If we are going to make a push for the top six we need a big enough squad and I think if competition for places is rife then that can only be a good thing because as a player that competition and rivalry helps to spur you on.

"We are really looking forward to the Leeds game, they are on a bit of a bad run at the moment and I'm sure it will be an interesting game on Saturday.

"We'll be well up for the game as we are for every game and hopefully if we work hard and show the sort of determination we have been showing recently we'll get a result."
