DOIG BACK IN TRAINING
Cobblers boss Stuart Gray has confirmed that skipper Chris Doig has resumed training with the first team squad for the first time since being injured at Darlington in November.
"Chris Doig is back on the training ground and that is very pleasing for everyone," he said.
"He's still a way off and we don't want to take any risks with him because it was a bad injury but hopefully we'll get him into a reserve team game in the next week to 10 days.
"Liam Dolman wasn't available last weekend because of the dead leg he picked up against Hartlepool but he's been back in full training this week and he will be OK for Friday night.
"Poul Hubertz is back available again and he gives us a different option. He was in a good run of form before his suspension, he is a real handful for defenders and we have missed his presence.
"Adebayo Akinfenwa will be in the squad again for Friday night, psychologically he feels fit but he still needs to work on his match sharpness. He's been out for a long time but if he carries on working with the physios to build up his fitness again he will then come into contention.
"Gabor Gyepes was a quality player when he was at Wolves before he got a bad injury, he needs games but we would like to keep him here until the end of the season and we are working to do that.
"He's a good player and if we can do a deal I think it will work well for both parties, he will be a good addition to our squad."
