At Saturday's game the club are supporting the Anne Frank Awards, in association with Northampton Borough Council.

Anne Frank is the inspiration for the Anne Frank Awards. Anne had spirit and ambition. She dreamt of a better future for mankind. She had strong values. She believed in the humanity of people, even when she was suffering in hiding.

The Anne Frank Awards serve to focus on issues relating to acts of great personal strength and conviction, for instance standing up for what you believe in, sometimes in the face of immense pressure. Many potential nominees may not even be aware that they possess the special qualities these awards recognise. They may be unaware of the extent to which they have touched the lives of others.

That's where you come in. We need you to think hard (or perhaps it will simply be obvious to you!) about people that you know who possess some, or all, of the following core values which would make them potential candidates to receive an Anne Frank Award:
RESPECT • INTEGRITY • HONESTY • MORAL COURAGE • SOCIAL JUSTICE • FAIRNESS DETERMINATION • RESPONSIBILITY • MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Nominees in the past have included: school peer mentors, people who have raised money for charity, people who have helped tackle bullying, people who have overcome disability or serious illness, teachers who have done voluntary work, young people who help other young people have a voice…. And many more too.

The winners nationally will get an invite to a special event with celebrities and VIP after-show party in early July and a free trip to the Anne Frank House in the Netherlands. Winners locally will be VIP guests at the Northampton Carnival in June 2008.

Please send your nomination using the easy on-line form
at www.northampton.gov.uk/annefrank to Lindsey Ambrose, the Youth Forum's Co-Ordinator or for more information telephone: 01604 837566.

Before the game there will be a balloon launch from the pitch. The club have helped with this project, and all of the balloons launched contain a young persons 'dream for the future'.

Young people who have already been nominated have received tickets to attend the match.
