COKE PLEASED TO COMPLETE 90 MINUTES

Posted on: Mon 14 Jan 2008

Giles Coke was delighted to get through his first 90 minutes of first team football for 12 months in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United, even if he did feel a little bumped and bruised.

"I picked up a bit of a knock on Saturday but I'm sure I'll be fine for Gillingham," he said.

"I got a bit of a whack from their keeper when I went up for a header and his knee caught me in the side, it was a bit sore after the game but I'm sure it'll be fine in a couple of days.

"It would have been nice to score the winner on Saturday but their keeper made a good save and it obviously just wasn't meant to be.

"The game probably could have gone either way and in the end we had to come away with the draw.

"I think overall it was probably a fair result, both teams had chances to win the game but that's gone now and we are all just looking forward to playing Gillingham on Saturday.

"I was pleased to complete the 90 minutes, I thought I could have done a bit better on the ball but overall I was just pleased to get through the whole game OK.

"It does take a while to get your match fitness back when you've been out for a long time but I don't like it when I give the ball away.

"We've got a good team here and I'm sure we will start to string a few results together sooner rather than later. We've got some good players here and I'm sure we will be fine."
