HUGHES - 'THE FIRST 30 MINUTES COST US THE GAME'
Mark Hughes felt the Cobblers lost the Boxing Day fixture at Doncaster Rovers inside the first 30 minutes.
"We were very disappointed with our first half performance and you can't afford to gift good teams like Doncaster a two goal head start," he said.
"We never got going in the first half, we played with a bit more belief that we could get back into the game in the second half but it was our first half performance that cost us.
"We need to analyse what we are doing wrong and we need to put it right quickly. We need to put in a 90 minute performance and we can't keep only turning up for 45 minutes.
"We can all do better but at Doncaster we didn't test their keeper enough in the second half when we did have a bit of the play and they definitely deserved to win the game.
"We improved a bit in the second half but the game was already over by then really.
"We had a good win against Huddersfield at home earlier in the season but we know it will be a different game on Saturday, they've got some good players and Andy Booth is always a handful.
"We want to bounce back from the defeat at Doncaster with a win at Huddersfield and we are all looking forward to the game.
"We don't want to be dragged into a scrap at the bottom of the table and I'm a great believer in looking upwards."
