COBBLERS LAND CITY MIDFIELDER
Northampton Town have signed 34 year old Bristol City midfielder Alex Russell on a month's loan.
The former Rochdale, Cambridge United and Torquay United man will bring a wealth of experience to the Cobblers midfield, having been a regular in the City side that won promotion to the Championship last season. He has made 2 appearances for City already this season.
Russell has almost 450 career appearances to his credit, and has scored 50 senior goals.
"Alex has quality and will bring some experience to the squad," said boss Stuart Gray.
"He has been there and done it at this level, and he will be a big help to the young players we have here.
"He is a winner and has tasted success at this level as recently as last season, playing a big part in Bristol City's promotion.
"He is still very fit and is a very good passer of the ball. He has a wealth of experience and that is something we have been keen to add to the squad."
