Stuart Gray is hoping that in form striker Andy Kirk will be fit to face Brighton & Hove Albion at the Withdean Stadium on Saturday.

"Andy Kirk has got a little bit of a groin problem and we will have to see how that is before deciding on the team," he said.

"He has played with it for a couple of games and that's why we brought him off on Tuesday but fingers crossed he'll come through fine for Saturday.

"Everybody else is OK apart from Giles Coke but we knew when we signed him that he was going to be out for a while. I'm not going to rush him.

"We are still looking to add to the squad but it is still early days. We will keep persevering but we are still waiting on calls from Premiership and Championship managers in regards to maybe bringing a player or two in on loan and that could happen either before or after the transfer deadline at the end of August.

"At the minute I have got one or two players who can fill in at more than one position but ideally I'd like to put round pegs into round holes. Competition for places is healthy and I want the players to know that if they aren't pulling their weight there is someone that can come in and take their place."
