JONES IS LATEST NEW SIGNING
Northampton Town have signed Wolves midfielder Daniel Jones on loan until the January transfer window.
Jones, aged 21, stands 6ft 2in tall and made 8 starts for the West Midlands club in the Championship last season.
He is naturally a wide player, who can operate on either the left or the right.
"Daniel is a player I know all about having been at Wolves with Glenn Hoddle when we gave him his senior debut," said Cobblers boss Stuart Gray.
"He is a big, strong lad with a lot of pace and he will give us some power going forward, which is what we need at the moment. He can operate wide on either flank and that will add to our options.
"We are still working to bring other people in, particularly up front, but you can't always control in what order deals are done, so we are still having to be patient in terms of a striker coming to the club, although talks are moving forward.
"Daniel will give us added width and he adds to the strength of the squad. I have worked with him a lot, I know his ability and I know his character and I hope he will prove as successful as the loan signings we made last season.
"He played 8 games in the side that made it through to the Championship play offs last season and I know he made an impact in the opportunities he was given in a squad full of quality.
"His ability, temprament and attitude are first class and I would like to thank Mick McCarthy for allowing him to join us."
He is set to be given a run out in the Maunsell Cup Final at Rushden & Diamonds on Saturday.
