Stuart Gray feels that Colin Larkin is the sort of player who will bring something different to the Northampton Town attack.

"In any squad it is important to have players with different attributes who compliment each other," he said.

"Colin is another player with a good pedigree. He began his career at Wolves which is an excellent place to pick up a good grounding and since then he has added a fair amount of experience despite still being relatively young.

"Some of the forwards we have here are more comfortable with their back to goal, but Colin is a player who will give us something different. He has pace and he can move defences about. He is better going towards goal, he will stretch play and open up gaps and not only do we expect him to come up with some goals himself, he should create space for others with his movement, which is one of his strongest attributes.

"I am hoping that the move here will bring the best out of him, and hopefully the service he gets together with his own work will see him hit the back of the net for us as often as possible. He is a 100% player who has a great attitude and will provide a good blend up front for us.

"Pace and quality movement is something that Colin has and that is always a good attribute to bring into a squad."
