CROWE IN TRIBUTE TO GRAY AND CARDOZA

Posted on: Fri 15 Jun 2007

Jason Crowe admitted he was pleased to end all of the speculation about his future and sign a new 2 year contract to stay at Northampton Town.

"I am very happy to have sorted everything out and I am delighted to be staying at the club," he said.

"I have to say a very big thank you to Stuart Gray and David Cardoza for staying patient with me and I am very pleased that I will be remaining at Northampton Town.

"Stuart was a big factor in my decision to stay, and when you see Chris Doig signing that has an impact on you. I also know some of the players that the Gaffer is targeting and trying to bring to the club and that shows the ambition that is here. The Gaffer has shown he has a good eye for a player and that can only help us.

"I have enjoyed 2 good years here so far. The first year was great with promotion, and there were signs that we were beginning to make an impact at this level towards the end of last season and with Stuart leading us in the right direction I am sure that progress will continue.

"It has been well reported that there was other interest in me and when any person is a free agent then it is only right to look at the options on the table, take your time and make a considered decision. I kept my options open until I felt the time was right to commit. Northampton Town, Stuart Gray and David Cardoza have been very good to me and now I have made my decision to stay here I am delighted we can put the speculation to bed and move on."
