JOHNSON SIGNS SIX MONTH DEAL
Northampton Town defender Brett Johnson has signed a new six month contract.
"I think with Brett we could have a very good player on our hands. He can certainly play but he has had a lot of injury problems in the last few months," said boss Stuart Gray.
"He did well when he played against Carlisle and he also did well when he was thrown in against Blackpool at the last minute.
"If he can stay clear of injuries I think he will do well but we need to sort his hamstring problems out. We will be doing more investigative work into why he keeps getting the same hamstring injury because I think it happened four times last season.
"Fingers crossed he can get clear of those problems and then its up to Brett to try and impress me again at the start of next season. If he can get a sustained, injury free run then he will have the opportunity to show me what he can do. I have been pleased with his attitude and his ability. He is a good build and for a left footed centre half he has all the attributes and that is why we want to give him every chance, but we have to remove the injury doubts to progress."
