Stuart Gray is sure that midfielder Joe Burnell will be back in action and fully fit for the start of pre-season training in early July.

"Joe Burnell has been out for a while now but he did join us in our end of season fitness testing last week and that was pleasing to see," said the Cobblers boss.

"He picked up the injury at Port Vale and initially it looked like a bad one but we were then re-assured that it wasn't too bad. It turned out to be ligament damage and it has just dragged on from there really.

"Hopefully he'll have a good summer and come back ready for pre-season."
