BUNN PRAISE FOR BARRON
Goalkeeper Mark Bunn was delighted and honoured to be named the Northampton Town Player of the Year for 2006/2007.
"I was very pleased with the award," he said.
"I have worked really hard this season. I would like to say a big thank you to Jim Barron, our goalkeeping coach, who has worked really hard with me and Chris Dunn and without his help I would not have got the award. I must also thank all of the supporters who voted for me.
"Lee Harper was also a big help to me before he left. He has been a big influence on me and I owe him a big thanks as well.
"John Gorman put a lot of faith in me and gave me my chance at the start of the seasonand I owe him a lot as well. Thankfully I was able to take the chance he afforded me.
"The penalty save at Rotherham was a big moment for me but I also remember the game at Nottingham Forest. It was nice to play well in front of a big crowd at the City Ground.
"The game on Friday was all about Ian Taylor. It was a good moment when he left the field and the fans showed their appreciation. The pitch was a bit bumpy on Friday and there was a strong wind and that made life hard for the players which is why the game might not have been the spectacle we were all hoping for."
