ANDY NAMED FRANK LARGE SUPPORTER OF THE YEAR

Posted on: Mon 30 Apr 2007

Andy Gregg has been named the winner of the 2006/2007 Frank Large Supporter of the Year award. Andy, who received his award before kick off at Friday's game against Huddersfield Town, has clocked more than 900 consecutive games and has not missed a match in 17 years.

The award was kindly sponsored by NTFC Supporters Ltd.

Long service awards were handed to Les Hawkins and Peter Burdett.

Peter is 70 years old and has been supporting the Cobblers all of his life. He recalls the First Division days and used to take his sons and now grandchildren. He has suffered three heart attacks and has had a heart bypass operation but never misses a game. He is registered disabled, has to walk on crutches and sits in the Alwyn Hargrave Stand. Even through ill health he remains a devoted Cobbler.

Les will be 75 in June and has followed the Cobblers for over sixty years. He has been a season ticket holder for most of those 60 years and attends all of the home and away games. He often collects players autographs and has got his son hooked on the Cobblers. He has suffered from ill health but his own mood is always dictated by the Cobblers progress.

Special Merit awards were handed to Vince and Trina Smith and Mark Kennedy.

Vince & Trina Smith are the wheels behind the scenes in the running of NTFC Supporters Ltd, and almost work full time for the love of their football club. They organise the Trust Travel busses, taking calls for bookings into the dead of night (and they pay for themselves to ride to away games, which a lot of fans don't realise), they are involved in running the car boot sales on a monthly basis, running social events, selling tickets, well you name it, they do it!Vince and Trina are unsung heroes within NTFC and a lot of their work goes unnoticed by many.

Mark has been following the Cobblers ever since his long suffering mum gave in from his constant nagging and allowed him to attend a game when he was just a teenager and has been an avid fan ever since. From that day his life now evolves around who and where the Cobblers are playing, how they did and how bad the referee was! His passion and loyalty for this club has been unwavering through the bad times and has only been increased through the good ones. He is a trust board member and as such has been a big vocal campaigner to the council regarding the stadium redevelopment plans.
