CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!
Unsung Heroes
Congratulations to Mustafa El Baytai who was nominated for the Northamptonshire Police Authority's Unsung Heroes Award at Wootton Hall Police Station earlier this month.
This was the eighth celebration of the county's Unsung Heroes awards and, as in previous years, they were to recognise a very unique group of people. From all walks of life, the individuals and groups share a common desire to make their communities better places in which to live.
Mustafa was recommended for an Unsung Heroes Award by Community Officer Russell Lewis for his dedication to Northampton Town's Multi Disabled Football Club, not only for his coaching but also for his help in raising money for the club.
Well done Mustafa - the award could not go to a more deserving person.
Deirdre Newham, chair of the Police Authority said, "There are many ways of helping others and providing a benefit to the community. These are by no means always major initiatives and so often it is individuals or small groups of people who deserve our thanks and appreciation. I would like to take this opportunity of congratulating everyone who was nominated for an award and thanking those people who took time and trouble to seek them out for well-deserved recognition."
Also recognised on the night was Nathan Austin who received the Silver award in the Youth category for his patience in helping to instruct and motivate young footballers on community schemes.
Mustafa brought his well deserved award to the Oldham game and had his photograph taken with Ian Henderson and Colin Larkin, who like all of the players are really interested in the work Mustafa carries out.
Congratulations to Ben and Kevin
Ben de Boe won the young disabled person award for his help on Saturday mornings at the club's Early Birds Football scheme. Ben is at Early Birds each week helping the coaches orgnise and coach the young children. Ben is thought highly by all the coaches at Early Birds and is very popular with the young players.
Kevin Rootes received the team of the year award on behalf of Northampton Town Championship team who reached the National Finals in Manchester last season. Anyone who is involved in the popular Northampton Town Multi Disabled Football Club realises how important Kevin has been in the development of the club. Kevin's knowledge and passion about disabled football is there for all to see and at Northampton Town we are proud to have Kevin driving our club forward.
The Awards for Ben and Kevin were presented by Gavin Lewis, the Street Football Officer for Northampton Borough Council who sponsored and organised the Awards. Many thanks to Ian Sampson who took time out from his busy pre match activities to represent the club.
