COVENTRY REPORT

Posted on: Thu 26 Nov 2009

Northampton Town's Disability Centre of Excellence squads had their first fixtures of the season at Coventry on Sunday 15th November.

Teams that were present included: Birmingham FA, Staffordshire FA, Leicestershire FA and of course Northampton Town.

We were very lucky with the weather all day as the sun was shining throughout. The day went well with some very good football being played by all teams in both age groups.

As this was the first fixture of the season there were lots of new players in both the under 14 and under 17 squads for all teams involved and this was great to see. The new players in the Cobblers squad seemed to settle very quickly and enjoyed the day.

The under 17 squad went six games unbeaten winning 2 and drawing 4. This was under the guidance of a new manager Andy Baker.

As for the under 14 squad, they got off to a quick start winning 3-0 against Leicester. The under 14's left Coventry with 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses to show for their efforts.

All in all this was a very successful day and we can look forward to the next rounds of fixtures in Leicestershire in February.
