Ian Sampson thought his side deserved to claim all three points from Saturday's 2-1 win over Cheltenham Town.
"I thought it was a really good win and it was vital that we followed up the victory at Hereford with another three points," he said.
"I felt we dominated the game and it probably would have been a bit of a travesty if we hadn't come away with the three points.
"I was delighted for Seb Harris to get the winning goal, it was a good ball in from Alex Dyer and a great glancing header from Seb. He looked lively when he came on, he can really head the ball well and he certainly deserves a few plaudits.
"He puts in the hours on the training ground and certainly since Christmas he's been working ever so hard. I'm sure he's buzzing tonight and when you are a footballer there is no better feeling in the world than scoring a goal.
"Bayo picked up a knock at Hereford on Tuesday night and he was really touch and go for the game today. He put himself out there for the team though and I'm sure he will be okay for the game at Port Vale.
"Paul Rodgers is vital to our squad because he can play in so many different positions. He is playing in a wide right position at the moment, he has got tremendous pace and he put some good balls into the Cheltenham box.
"There are no guarantees that 8 more wins would put us into the play-offs but all we can do is just keep trying to win games and then see where that takes us. We have certainly consolidated our position in the top half of the table now though which is very pleasing.
"I think I've said many times that we have created a good team spirit here and that is a credit to the players.
"When I came in at 9.30 this morning the game was certainly in doubt but credit to the groundsman and everyone who worked really hard on the pitch to get the game on.
"Credit to the referee as well for giving it a go and I was just pleased that we managed to get through the 90 minutes.
"Luke Guttridge was close to being involved today but he didn't feel quite right so we decided not to risk him. Fingers crossed he'll be back next Saturday and I'll have a few decisions to make then with Ryan Gilligan and Kevin Thornton both back from suspension as well. As a manager it is nice to have those decisions to make though and it is always good to have that competition for places.
"We are entering a vital part of the season now and that's why I made the decision to release Billy Lumley and bring in Jason Steele.
"Having had a good look at Billy I made the decision to let him go, he took the decision with grace and we wish him all the best for the future.
"There were quite a few clubs in for Jason but we were delighted to get him and obviously having Malcolm Crosby helped with that."
