Stuart Gray was left very disappointed by Friday's 3-1 defeat against Barnet.

"It was a very scrappy first half but we managed to get our noses in front," he reflected.

"I thought at half-time we could then go on and build on that but Barnet caused us a lot of problems in the second half. They got the ball forward quickly but the disappointing thing was that their goals were all self inflicted.

"We gave away far too many free-kicks in and around our 18-yard box. I thought the one that they scored from was a bit harsh but once the free-kick has been given you have got to defend it and we failed to do that.

"After they equalised we just kept giving possession away far too cheaply and that put us under pressure. Paul Furlong took his goal very well but we gave him too much space and I was very disappointed with the way we conceded the third goal.

"We have been trying to get a goalkeeper in on loan and that is an avenue that we need to continue to explore when the loan window reopens on Tuesday.

"When you win games the players get the credit and when you lose games the manager gets it in the neck - that is the game but I know a 3-1 home defeat is not acceptable. I am fully responsible for results and it is down to me to turn this around.

"I've got an honest bunch of players but this was a game where we just needed to grind a result out. I prepare my team to try and win every game but when we got our noses in front we just gave possession away far too cheaply and put pressure on ourselves.

"I want to win games of football and we now need to go to Notts County next weekend and try and come away with the three points. Steve Guinan turned his ankle in training and Paul Rodgers was ill so we will have to see how they are next week.

"We are in a results based business and the results against Burton and Barnet have not been good enough but I've been in football long enough to know that things can quickly change."
