GRAY FRUSTRATED BY LATE PENALTY DECISION
Stuart Gray praised the reaction of his players to going a goal down at Bristol Rovers on Wednesday, but felt they could have won the game had a key decision in the last few minutes of the game gone in their favour.
"We did well to get a point back after going behind but we perhaps should have gone on to take all three," he reflected.
"I think we had a stonewall penalty turned down right at the end of the game when Mark Little was brought down in the area.
"Having worked with Mark and knowing his character I know that he's an honest player and he wouldn't have gone down if he hadn't been fouled.
"I thought the game was fairly even in the first half but we conceded a very poor goal just before half-time which was disappointing.
"The conditions weren't the best for either side, the pitch isn't great and the strong wind also made it very difficult but in saying that despite the tough conditions I think we generally adapted OK to both the wind and the pitch.
"We showed great character in the second half to get a goal back and Poul Hubertz did well to be in the right place at the right time.
"I was very disappointed with Poul's performance in the first half and we had a few words at half-time and full credit to him he gave me a great response in the second half.
"His ball retention was a lot better in the second half and he won a lot more in the air as well.
"Our fans were fantastic again, we've had a lot of away games recently and I know it can be expensive following your team but they have given us great support all season which myself and the players really do appreciate."
