COBBLERS SUFFER NARROW LOSS AT PLAINMOOR

LADIES MAKE COUNTY CUP FINAL

Northampton Town Ladies had a short trip across county to play Rothwell Ladies in the County Cup semi final.

It was not long before the Cobblers took control of the game, forcing Rothwell on to the back foot and by half time the Cobblers were comfortably in the lead with the game already over as a serious contest.

Rothwell tried hard to defend but the Cobblers were too determined and slicker in their passing, meanin that chances were missed in addition to the nine goals that were scored.

The Cobblers were pleased with their performance and happy that they were able to give some of their returning injured players a run. The cobblers can celebrate that they have made the final but in the coming weeks the task is to look to climb the league.

Scorers: Trotman 3, Robson 1, Christie 2, Bateman 1, Cox 1 and an own goal.
