POINTS SHARED WITH SPURS

Posted on: Sun 13 Dec 2009

Northampton Town Ladies 1 Tottenham Hotspur Ladies 1

Northampton Town Ladies played their last game for 2009 hoping that they could find some of their early season form and take the three points in style, but this was not to be.

Tottenham came spurred on to make amends for the FA Cup defeat they suffered earlier in the season. Tottenham will probably feel aggrieved that they were not in front at half time after some good goalkeeping from Nat Smith and a little help from the crossbar kep them at bay.

Northampton on the other hand were pleased to have had a chance to regroup.

The Cobblers seemed to start with more purpose, but with a lack of concentration saw Tottenham break through to take the lead. From this point on Northampton found more determination and pressed on for the equaliser.
Northampton's Lauren Smith scored to level the game up one a piece.

The Cobblers continued to dominate the second half but there were few clear chances and the game finished with each team taking a point.
