LADIES KNOCK SPURS OUT OF WOMEN'S FA CUP

The Cobblers Ladies started their FA Cup journey with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

The first half saw Northampton having most of the possession, but it wasn't until early in the second half that the Cobblers made the breakthrough with a good move on the edge of the box allowing Robson to strike the ball cleanly into the top corner of the net.

After scoring Northampton had further opportunities to seal the game but with twenty minutes to go Spurs started to press forward.

Both sides hit the crossbar from distance, but Northampton Town recorded a deserved 1-0 victory to go through to the next round.
