Northampton Town signed striker Billy McKay in July 2009. The forward was released by Leicester City at the end of the previous season, despite impressing with a prolific record at Academy and Reserve team level at the Walkers Stadium. He has spent the 2009 pre-season on trial at Sixfields, earning himself a deal.
