Northampton Town signed Millwall striker Poul Hubertz on an initial 12 month contract in August 2007. The 6ft 5in forward joined the Lions in the summer of 2006 after impressing on trial. He had previously played for Danish Superliga clubs Herfølge BK and AaB. In his first season in English football, he scored 10 goals for the Lions from just 15 starts, with a further 23 appearances from the substitutes bench.
