Northampton Town's Football in the Community Programme hosted the annual Summer Cup tournament here at Sixfields on Thursday 13th May, with eight schools and nearly 80 players from the county having the once in a lifetime opportunity of playing on the main pitch at Sixfields.

All of the schools arrived in force, bringing an army of supporters to witness this memorable occasion in what proved to be a very competitive and successful event. Teams of talented year 6 players represented Bugbrooke, Irchester, Kingsthorpe Grove, Hopping Hill, Earls Barton, Castle, Upton Meadows and Chiltern Primary Schools, all of whom competed to a very high standard.

Following the round of group games, it was Hopping Hill and Kingsthorpe Grove who were to battle it out in the final of this year's event.

Many players, parents, teachers and friends took their places in the West Stand to watch what turned out to be a very close final, Hopping Hill emerging victorious following a 1-0 win.
