Before the game with Chesterfield on Saturday Sixfields hosted the finals of the Northamptonshire Community Cup. The Community Cup is organised by the club's Community Programme and is a national event with the two winning teams playing at Wembley.

The four school teams taking part this year at Sixfields were Chiltern Primary School, Wootton Primary School, Havelock Junior School and Delapre Primary School. The four schools played each other in a round robin format, all the matches were played in an excellent spirit and the goalkeepers, defenders and forwards performed very well in heavy conditions. The eventual winners were Havelock who will go on to represent Northampton at the Area Finals.

Many thanks to Kevin and Jamie Rootes who kept score and referees Adam, Michael and Philip who all did a terrific job helping the tournament run smoothly.

After the exciting final all the teams with their teachers and parents watched the Cobblers play Chesterfield.
