On Wednesday 8th April and Thursday 9th April, Northampton Town's Boys Player Development teams travelled to Luton Town to play in a triangular tournament. The tournament consisted of teams from Luton Town and Rushden and Diamonds. On the Wednesday the tournament was for the U9 and U11s in the morning with the U13 and U15s playing in the afternoon. The triangular tournament took the format of a round robin. The U9 and U11s played their fixtures on 4G astroturf while the other age groups played their fixtures on grass pitches. All age groups did very well in their respective matches.
On the Thursday it was the turn of the U8 and U10s to play in the morning, while in the afternoon the U12 and U14s played. The fixtures were made up of the same clubs who had been involved on the Wednesday.

The second week saw the Cobblers host a two day PDC triangular tournament at Daventry Sports Park with Cambridge United and Southend United making the trip to join us. On Thursday 16th April the U7, U9, U11, U13 and U15s were in action. All fixtures were played on grass pitches and even though the weather was not in our favour all age groups from all three clubs played some very good development football.

Friday 17th April was the turn of the U8, U10, U12 and U14s to play. The weather stayed dry and yet again good performances were on display from all three clubs across all age groups.

Both PDC tournaments went really well and were yet again well supported by parents from all the clubs. A big thank you goes out to all our players and staff for their time and professionalism over the Easter period. The next potential PDC fixtures are due to take place during May half term.
